Arizona Shower Door

In addition to the residential and commercial glass we do
here at Glass King, shower enclosures are part of our repertoire!  Whether it is a custom piece or a standard shower
door, we can repair or replace any glass shower door in the east valley here in
Arizona. As with most custom shower door companies in Arizona, there are all
types of choices out there. However, one piece of trivia not all customers know
is that there are five options for glass choice when it comes to shower doors.
The first, and one of the most common, is clear. This type is, just as it
sounds, clear glass which does not obscure the view through the door. It is
found to be standard in most showers. The second type is Satin Etch (Sometimes
known as frosted or silk). This type of glass obscures the vision between the
outside and inside, creating privacy for the individual inside and giving the
appearance of blurred colors when attempting to look in. The third type is
Reed, which has the appearance of glass stripes running vertically. This
distorts the view, yet is still see through such as clear is. The fourth option
is Obscured. Though it has a similar look to Satin Edge and distorts the view
similarly, it is different in its style, which uses the texture of the glass to
distort the vision rather than the frosted appearance as seen with Satin Edge.
The last and most important type is Niagra Rain. Rain glass is called such for
its appearance, which is textured glass that streams vertically as if water
itself were streaming down. It is longer lasting and corrodes slower than the
other choices. Visually pleasing as well as obscuring for the benefit of those
using the shower, rain is the overall best choice to go with when it comes to
choosing a shower door. For safety, all glass doors are tempered regardless of
style, allowing for further protection in the strength of your door. For those
unaware of the difference between Tempered and Annealed glass, tempered is
glass which is specially baked to be reinforced and stronger than annealed.
This means that rather than having shards of sharp hard glass lying around and
rigid edges such as with broken annealed glass, tempered glass will break into
little squares, protecting you and your family from injuries and hazardous messes.
All in all, when it comes to your shower door needs, our tempered rain glass
doors are the safest, most attractive and longest lasting available.
