Glass is not only what you see in your windows. Glass products are so diverse that it is virtually impossible to describe them all in detail. Very often, glass becomes a unique instrument of art making and crafts. Today, Tempe Glass decided to step away from boring industrial concepts and speak about glass as a piece of art. The main reason why we decided to discuss glass art is because just a few weeks ago a pioneering glass artist Dale Chihuly opened his exhibition in Seattle. Unusual and challenging, the exhibition had to bring a new breath in the world of art and glass science. Seattle has become the first place to see the most comprehensive collection of Chihuly’s works ever. The artist proves that glass is not just an industrial engineering material but also a perfect means of artistic self-expression. Visitors of Chihuly’s exhibition can enjoy the unusualness of glass sculptures and look through the glass pictures created by the artist.
Tempe Glass professionals are confident that glass is one of the most universal instruments of art. With glass, you can realize your most challenging decisions and dreams. Chihuly’s boat full of glass balls suggests that there are no limits to glass art. Chihuly exhibits his gallery fully dedicated to chandeliers. A dozen of glass sculptures are suspended in intersections and piazzas, attracting visitors.
Chihuly expresses special emotions about Venice, where his artistic career began. This is why Venice is one of the major themes transcending his works. More surprising is the fact that Chihuly creates his works without the full use of his left eye, which suffered during a car accident in 1976. This is why the artist has a team of workers who realize his drawings and turn them into sculptures. We at Tempe Glass believe that it is always great to have artists that turn conventional glass materials into a pleasure for the human eye and heart.
